Maya Sar is singer-songwriter, vocal coach, who represented Bosnia and Herzegovina in Eurovision Song Contest 2012 with the song "Korake ti znam", she wrote by herself.

On this project, she has collaborated with the famous Italian producer Adriano Pennino, and Orchestra Roma Sinfonietta.

She is the founder of the regional humanitarian project in the fight against cervical cancer "Moj je zivot moja pjesma" (My Life Is My Song)] and the composer and songwriter of the eponymous song which is performed by leading stars in region. For this, she received the Gold plaque of the great human heart by the International League of Humanists (Dr. Elisabeth Rehn) (2011).

Also the European award by European Cervical Cancer Assotiation (ECCA) (2014).

In 2005, Maya Sar graduated at Sarajevo Music Academy, piano department. Before she started her solo career, Maya Sar was a backing vocalist for many famous singers. For many years, she has been member of the prominent Bosnian singer-songwriter Dino Merlin and the Sarajevo National Theater Opera Choir.

Her first single "Nespretno" was released in 2010 and it became big hit in Bosnia & Herzegovina as well as in other neighbouring countries. She composes for other artists (Zdravko Colic, Tereza Kesovija, Karolina Goceva, Jacques Houdek…) in the family studio “Long Play Studio” with her husband and producer Mahir Sarihodzic.

Her first album "Krive rijeci" (Wrong Words) was published by Aquarius Records in 2013.

She is ambassador in AVON’s Breast Cancer Awareness campaign.
